Hospitality has been the central focus of my professional career since the day I arrived in London 40 years ago. Back then, I did not speak any English nor had any contacts... I just figured that getting a job in a restaurant would probably be my best bet... After 30 minutes of my arrival at Victoria Station, I walked into a French restaurant in Covent Garden and asked for a job - to my surprise, I got hired, as a commis waiter... and that’s when and where my journey into this fantastic industry began.

Since then, I’ve worked for and with hundreds of restaurants across the UK, Europe, and the US - from independent operators to large chains. I have been incredibly lucky to work alongside some truly amazing operators, gathering knowledge, experience and skills along the way. My experience spans every area of the restaurant business: kitchen, front of house, finance, management, senior management, technology, and consultancy. I subsequently work as an Product Director for large blue chip companies, designing functionality for epos, cash management, loyalty schemes, inventory control and purchasing systems and then as a consultant. I also the co-founded and managed a restaurant online bookings & marketing platform, giving me a unique perspective on the digital side of the hospitality industry.

This diverse background has provided me with a deep understanding of what makes restaurants successful - and what holds them back. I’ve seen the industry evolve from a vibrant, fun, hospitality-driven space to a complex, high-pressure environment where adaptability and efficiency are key.
